FAIRFIELD, CT — A woman tried to hit her ex-boyfriend with a vehicle, but instead ended up striking the manager of the restaurant where he was working, according to Fairfield police.

The incident took place Sept. 25, when Anttaisha Marie Pride showed up behind a diner at Sacred Heart University, where her ex, Kenyatta Aaron Jenkins, was working, a police report said. The two argued and got into a scuffle before Pride entered the vehicle, according to police. After Jenkins broke Pride's side mirror, Pride put the car in drive and attempted to strike Jenkins, who moved out of the way, causing Pride to hit a manager who was trying to deescalate the situation, police said.

Pride, 20, fled the scene, but was charged with assault, attempted assault, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, evading, operating without a license, operating an unregistered vehicle and improper use, according to court records. Jenkins, 23, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct and taken to Bridgeport police headquarters, where he had two active warrants, police said. The manager suffered an arm injury and was taken to the hospital, according to police.
