2 Injured in Fiery 4-Vehicle Crash in Farmington
Route 4 was closed for nearly two hours as a result of the crash Thursday morning, according to police.

FARMINGTON, CT — Two people were hospitalized Thursday morning following a four-vehicle collision on Route 4 at the intersection of Pilgrim Path in Farmington, just west of Interstate 84.
One of the vehicles caught fire as a result of the crash, which took place at 6:17 a.m., Lt. Patrick Buckley said.
The injured parties were transported by ambulance to area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries, Buckley said.

The roadway had to be closed between I-84 and Mountain Spring Road during the emergency and cleanup. A detour was in place to reroute traffic until the road re-opened at 8:10 a.m., Buckley said.
The crash is currently under investigation. Any witnesses are asked to call Farmington police at 860-675-2400.
