Saw "Bullets over Broadway", in previews in NYC...what fun! It's based on the Woody Allen movie (which, if I saw, I don't remember), and stars Zach Braf from the TV show "Scrubs", who handles his broadway debut pretty well! Overall pretty good show...it's in previews, so if they consulted me (they won't) I'd tell them they could cut a couple of numbers, but overall it was tons of fun...dancing gangsters, great songs, lovely voices, interesting story line. I'll be interviewing one of the stars, Karen Ziemba, this Thursday on "SpotLight"; log on or tune in at 12:30, www.wlismrd.net. I'll also be chatting with some of the cast of "Shout", playing at the Ivoryton Playhouse through next weekend. Saw that last night, and if you are a child of the 60s, a fan of the 60s, lived through the 60s, remember the 60's, or have just heard of the 60s, you'll enjoy it. Five talented ladies bring the music of the 60s to life! Check out www.ivorytonplayhouse.org.
Other than that, I'm heading into hel....I mean tech week for two projects! Friday night, we open a new tour at the Mark Twain House and Museum...sort of Downton Abbey for Hartford; guests will see the house from the servants' point of view as they get ready for a dinner party celebrating the U.S. publishing of "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn". These tours will go on the first Friday of every month, April - September, www.marktwainhouse.org.
Saturday night, we open "Almost, Maine" with the Theater Guild of Simsbury, a lovely show about love and relationships, set far up in Maine, against the Northern Lights. It only runs 2 weekends, tickets at www.theatreguildsimsbury.org.
Until next time...
