FARMINGTON, CT — A low-flying paraglider created a scare in Farmington on Wednesday morning.
Ultimately, however, there was really nothing to be concerned about, police said.
Farmington Police Department said officers found no injuries or signs of distress after responding to a report of a low-flying paraglider early Wednesday near Executive Drive.
Police received a call for service describing a red “parachute” flying at low altitude in the area.
Officers, along with the Farmington Fire Department, canvassed the area but did not locate the paraglider or any injured individuals.
An initial investigation indicates the individual was likely operating a low-altitude paraglider rather than parachuting from a higher elevation, according to FPD spokesman Lt. Kyle A. Noddin.
“At this time, this incident is not being considered an accident or a failed parachute event,” Noddin said.
No further action has been reported.
