The event, scheduled from noon to 4 p.m., will span a one-mile stretch from Route 4 to Meadow Road.

Organizers said more than 40 artists will create work live throughout the afternoon, including painting, illustration, graffiti, sculpture, and wool felting.

“This is the kind of event where you’ll see a grandmother, a mother, and a child all engaged in the same moment, watching something being created, asking questions, or just taking it all in together,” said Chelsea O’Donnell, the event organizer. “It’s active, it’s creative, and it gives families a way to spend time together that feels different and more meaningful than the usual Mother’s Day plans.”

The event is designed as an open-format experience, allowing visitors to move freely along the route rather than follow a fixed schedule.

Organizers said that the approach is intended to accommodate families with varying interests and mobility needs.

A continuous shuttle will operate along Main Street, allowing attendees to board and exit at multiple points.

Additional programming will include children’s activities led by Barney Library and The Village Nursery School, as well as live performances by Anne Cubberly’s Giant Puppets, Chorus Angelicus, and the Farmington High School Chamber Orchestra.

Food trucks will be located at the Noah Wallace School bus circle.

Artists will be positioned along sidewalks and the front lawns of historic homes within the district, offering attendees the opportunity to observe the creative process in real time.

The event is presented by the Farmington Cultural District and sponsored by the Farmington Community Chest.

Organizers said it has grown into a recurring community gathering focused on art and local engagement.

Admission is free. Attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items for donation to the Farmington Food Pantry.
