• Farmington OK's Deal For Major High-Tech Upgrades In Town (patch.com) — Farmington residents can expect a revamped town website, new 311 service request tools, and an AI chatbot after the Town Council unanimously approved a $61,690.98 contract with CivicPlus. The project, funded within an existing capital budget, will migrate Farmington's site to FarmingtonCT.gov, add accessibility and translation features, and roll out a resident portal over the next several months.
• Ex-stripper gets 2 years in prison for Farmington hot tub home invasion (theday.com) — A woman involved in planning a 2022 robbery that turned into a violent home invasion at a Farmington residence has been sentenced to two years in prison, after testifying against two men who received 21-year terms. The case, tried in Hartford, detailed how an arranged hot tub meetup in Farmington led to an armed attack and serious charges for everyone involved.
• Summer Research Experiences Give Students Career-Building Boost (uconn.edu) — Students working at UConn Health and the TIP Farmington incubator are gaining hands-on research and commercialization experience that could shape their careers, from biomedical engineering projects to startup collaborations. These summer programs bring dozens of undergraduates and grad students into Farmington labs and companies, helping them build skills, discover new interests, and even change majors or pursue advanced degrees.
