Elderly Farmington Man Dead After Crashing Z-28 Camaro In New Britain: Police (patch.com) β Farmington readers are learning that 84-year-old resident Abbott Schultz Jr. died after his Z-28 Camaro veered off I-84 west near Exit 36 in New Britain and overturned. State police are still investigating and are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashboard camera footage from the area to contact Troop H in Hartford.

Farmington HS Students Help Hospital Patients Pass The Time (patch.com) β Farmington High School students in the Cognitive Science Club turned a summer experience at Hartford Hospital into MindMaze, a custom 20-page activity book for patients. The Farmington-based group has already distributed hundreds of copies, translated the book into Spanish, and plans to expand its reach to more Connecticut health care facilities this school year.

River Hawks hope to take that next step in 2026 (collinsvillepress.com) β Farmington football fans can look ahead to a promising River Hawks season built around returning junior quarterback Mason Kiniry and an experienced line, even after key receivers graduated. Longtime coach Chris Machol, nearing the program's wins record, aims to turn last year's close losses into a winning record. The schedule includes home games against Newington, Simsbury, Bloomfield, and Middletown this fall.

4. Altaline invests in Risk & Regulatory Consulting (consulting.us) β A Farmington-based consulting firm, Risk & Regulatory Consulting, just received a major growth investment from Los Angeles private equity firm Altaline Capital Management, with leadership and local operations staying in place. The deal will fund more actuarial hires and a new employee ownership program as RRC expands its work helping insurance regulators nationwide tackle challenges like climate risk, cyber threats, and artificial intelligence.

Police investigating after two people found dead in Enfield home (courant.com) β Two Enfield residents who were found unresponsive in a Fox Hill Lane home were pronounced dead at the scene, and their bodies were taken to the state medical examiner's office in Farmington for autopsies. Police say there were no signs of trauma but evidence of heavy alcohol use and prescription medications, and they are continuing to investigate without suspecting foul play so far.
