Leaders say the recognition reflects rigorous staff training, individualized support for residents with dementia, and a focus on quality of life for local seniors.
• Before fleeing to Greece, former CT official repeatedly tried to get judge's permission to go (ctpost.com) — A former state school construction official who recently fled to Greece had repeatedly asked judges for permission to travel there while awaiting trial, but was denied each time. Court records show his Farmington home's equity helped secure his bond as prosecutors warned Greece's extradition rules and his dual ties made him a significant flight risk long before he disappeared.
• One person killed in motorcycle crash after being thrown from bike in Cheshire (courant.com) — A motorcyclist was killed Saturday night after losing control on Mountain Road in Cheshire and being thrown into a utility pole. The victim, whose name is pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to the Chief Medical Examiner's office in Farmington as police continue investigating and ask anyone with information to contact them.
