FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington's open houses this weekend include a slate-roofed brick Colonial in Devonwood backing up to Winding Trails, a single-level Devonwood home with a fireplace framed by built-in bookshelves, and a Farmington Highlands ranch with a pool.
A Unionville house on a cul-de-sac and an updated Lexton Drive house round out the list.
Five Farmington homes are holding open houses Saturday, Oct. 17, and Sunday, Oct. 18, with prices from $525,000 to $2,150,000, according to Zillow.com.
Saturday, Oct. 17
44 Lexton Drive, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., $640,000. The big-ticket items are done at this 1963 house, according to the listing: a new roof and kitchen skylight, new oil and propane tanks, fresh paint, and a hardwired generator. French doors lead from the dining room to a three-season porch, the kitchen has granite and a breakfast-bar island, and the finished lower level adds a second living area with a wood-burning fireplace insert and a fourth bedroom. It's a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home with 1,964 square feet on 0.4 acres.
20 Wyndwood Road, noon to 1:30 p.m., $525,000. This 1954 ranch in the Farmington Highlands neighborhood has hardwood floors across the main level and a primary bedroom with its own bath and French doors onto the back deck and pool area. The finished lower level adds a family room, a fifth sleeping area, and a full bath, which the listing suggests for an in-law setup. Outside are an above-ground pool and a custom stone patio. It's a four-bedroom, three-bath home with 1,983 square feet on 0.46 acres.
7 Farnham Way, noon to 2 p.m., $2,150,000. Tucked into Devonwood and backing up to Winding Trails, this 1997 brick Colonial with a slate roof has been redone inside, according to the listing. A two-story foyer with a curved staircase leads to rooms with 10-foot ceilings and newly refinished hardwood, a living room with a fireplace, a cherry-wood study, a dining room with its own fireplace and butler's pantry, and a renovated kitchen with quartz counters. It's a five-bedroom home with four full and two half baths and 7,064 square feet; the HOA fee is $150 a month.
16 Virginia Lane, 1 to 3 p.m., $650,000. On a cul-de-sac, this 1991 house has a granite kitchen with an eat-in area opening to a family room with a wood fireplace, plus a formal dining room, a first-floor office, and a deck rebuilt in 2020. Both upstairs bathrooms are newly updated, and the listing says the pool's filter and pump were replaced in 2022. The lower level is being partly finished. It's a four-bedroom home with two full and two half baths and 4,003 square feet. Its price was cut by $29,000 on Oct. 6.
Sunday, Oct. 18
5 Beacon Heath, noon to 2 p.m., $625,000. This single-level 1987 home in Devonwood has hardwood floors throughout, oversized windows, and high, architecturally interesting ceilings over the open living area, according to the listing. A fireplace with custom built-in bookshelves anchors the room, the kitchen has granite counters, and glass French doors open from the dining and living areas to the patio. It's a two-bedroom, two-bath home with 2,368 square feet on 0.52 acres; the HOA fee is $150 a month.
Make a weekend of it: Saturday starts at 11 a.m. on Lexton Drive, moves to Wyndwood Road and Farnham Way at noon, and ends in Unionville on Virginia Lane at 1 p.m. On Sunday, Beacon Heath gives a second look at Devonwood.
