Winter session, which runs Dec. 28-Jan. 17, offers opportunity to earn credits during winter break. Students who attend other colleges may enroll in courses at CT State campuses and transfer the winter credits earned to their bachelor's or associate degree programs.

Students can earn up to four credits in three weeks during the accelerated courses, which cover the same content as a regular 15-week class.

Classes in math, lab sciences, social sciences and humanities are among the topics covered, many of which fulfill general education requirements. For more information, and to find classes, visit ctstate.edu/summer-winter.

Spring 2027 Semester

Spring 2027 credit semester begins on January 22. In addition to the traditional semester schedule, accelerated sessions begin in January, February and March, allowing students to start at multiple points throughout the semester.

CT State campuses offer hundreds of associate degrees and certificates to prepare students for transfer to four-year degrees or direct entry into the workforce. Students can complete a certificate in as little as six months, and a degree in two years, in majors such as advanced manufacturing, business, cybersecurity, data science, healthcare, information technology, pathway to teaching careers, and technology.

Special agreements with public and private colleges and universities throughout the state provide seamless transfer and a low-cost pathway to a bachelor's degree.

Prospective students should start by applying online at ctstate.edu/how-to-apply. To ensure the best course selection, students are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

Free tuition may be available for eligible spring semester students who are Connecticut residents, have graduated from high school, and are attending college for the first time. Students who first attended college in fall 2020 or later may also qualify.

The free tuition program is not income-based. All students who plan on attending full- or part-time should complete the FAFSA so they can access the program or other financial aid, even if they do not think they will quality for need-based aid. Program funding is available on a rolling basis; applicants can see if they may qualify at www.ctstate.edu/free-tuition.

CT State will hold open houses at 12 locations throughout Connecticut in November for those interested in learning about becoming a CT State student. For more details, including open house hours, parking, and event updates, visit ctstate.edu/openhouse.

Noncredit Workforce Training Registration

Registration is also ongoing for noncredit career training certification programs across CT State campuses. Programs and classes are available in healthcare, information technology, manufacturing, real estate, culinary, veterinary assisting, and other high-demand fields.

Scholarships for information technology, healthcare, and manufacturing classes are available. Veterans, certified dislocated workers and those receiving SNAP assistance may also be eligible for scholarships and tuition waivers for many continuing education programs.
