The badminton team won the league championship, which capped an undefeated season of 9 wins, and zero losses. If we awarded a Most Valuable Player designation, it would go to Roanna Zou '19. At number one singles, she went undefeated for the season. Zou is wonderful to watch in action. Extremely fast, she covers the court beautifully, chasing down deep shots to the back court, and getting back to the net to field short drop shots. In her play, she embodies Muhammad Ali's maxim to "flout like a butterfly and sting like a bee." Indeed, she demonstrates great technical skill in the range of shots which she delivers with deadly effect. Most important, she is a hard working player who loved to play badminton. She is the model team player who is always willing to lend advise to beginning players in a way that is not condescending, but reflects instead her generous spirit.
