Two Farmington High School Seniors win awards.

Two FHS seniors, Julia Klinzman and Danielle Hoffman, have been selected to receive AXA Achievement Community Award Program Scholarships. In addition, Farmington High School will receive matching grants.

She has played lacrosse and soccer for the high school for four years, and now coaches a recreation soccer team.

Danielle Hoffman, an accomplished student and contributor to her school community, received the award primarily because of her community service work as the Founder and Director of Arts from the Heart, which she started back in 2009. Arts from the Heart is a group of teens that performs at nursing homes, hospitals, and senior centers throughout the area, including the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, the Hospital for Special Care, and the Village for Families & Children. In addition, the group has held an annual charity concert to raise money for the Petit Family Foundation for the past five years, raising nearly $13,000 to date. For the past three years, Danielle has also run a winter musical theater workshop at the Boys & Girls Club of New Britain with other members of Arts from the Heart.
