Miss Porter's Soccer Standout Named All-American

She had previously been accorded All-State and All-New England honors.

FARMINGTON, CT — Porter's senior Claire Beath was one of four Connecticut-based soccer players named to the 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) High School Girls All-America Team.

This was Claire's third award of the season, having previously earned Connecticut All State and All New England Honors. She will be honored at the NSCAA All-American Luncheon, to be held January 14 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

"Having a player receive the highest individual recognition possible and to be labeled an All-American athlete shows the caliber of player that the Porter's soccer program has," shares Head Coach Avi Dubnov, noting that this is the first time a Porter's athlete has earned All-America recognition. "Claire's teammates know exactly how dedicated and talented she is and that this award is something she worked very hard for. No one could be more deserving than Claire Beath and everyone at school is extremely proud of her."

Claire is a defender on Porter's varsity soccer team, which went undefeated during the regular season with a record of 18-0-2. The team finished the season as Founders League Co-Champions and went on to compete in the NEPSAC Quarterfinals and Semifinals.
