BoxLunch Opens First Connecticut Store At Westfarms

A new gift and novelty retailer with a "socially conscious business" model has set up shop in Connecticut.

FARMINGTON/WEST HSRTFORD, CT — BoxLunch, a new gift and novelty retailer with a "socially conscious business" model, has joined the lineup at Westfarms.

The brand's first location in the Connecticut market will feature a curated offering of licensed shirts, accessories, collectibles, home goods and gift and novelty items that showcases their shoppers varied personal interests. To commemorate the grand opening, BoxLunch is skated to host an in-store celebration this Saturday and Sunday with DJs, music, trivia games and giveaways from noon to 4 p.m.

"In keeping with our commitment to bring unique retailers to our shoppers we are excited to see BoxLunch open its first store in Connecticut," Westfarms General manager Alberto Arebalo said. "BoxLunch is the type of brand that resonates with our millennial and civic-minded shopper at Westfarms."

Headquartered in California, the specialty retailer is proud to support national hunger-relief efforts in each community they open in. With every $10 spent across the retailers’ themed product offerings, BoxLunch will provide a meal to a person in need through its philanthropic partnerships with Feeding America.

Locally, the store has committed to supporting Connecticut Foodshare, which will receive a percentage of the donations raised at the Westfarms BoxLunch store.

"We’re thrilled to be joining the rest of the great brands at Westfarms and are very excited to open our first Connecticut store," said Rick Vargas, BoxLunch's vice president of merchandising and marketing. "We look forward to supporting the Connecticut Foodshare Food Bank and continuing to support Feeding America’s local hunger-relief efforts in this new territory."

The 4,357 square foot Westfarms location is on the upper level near Macy's.
