‘Butterflies and Bugs!’ Farmington Land Trust Stroll on the Land with Jay Kaplan Director of Roaring Brook Nature Center
On Sunday, June 29th at 10:00 am the Farmington Land Trust will host a Stroll on ‘Butterflies and Bugs!’, at their Carey and Barney Pasture parcels. Jay Kaplan, Director of Roaring Brook Nature Center and butterfly expert will lead this walk. He will focus not only on identifying the species but also how to attract them to your gardens.
This location is home to a number of butterfly species, and had a documented rare Giant Swallowtails in our area last year and the year before.
The milkweed and many other wildflowers will be in full bloom, providing easy viewing for participants, including many species of Hairstreaks, Swallowtails, and many Skippers.

We will meet at the FLT Carey Barn (second driveway on the right, traveling north on north on Mountain Spring Road from Route 4). This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome.
