
Stanley-Whitman House invites the public to learn, observe, and practice gravestone care in hands-on Gravestone Cleaning Workshops at Farmington’s historic Memento Mori Cemetery. Led by preservation expert Ruth Shapleigh-Brown of the Connecticut Gravestone Network, participants will discover how Connecticut brownstone and marble weather over time. They will practice safe, respectful cleaning techniques that preserve inscriptions and carvings. Tools and materials provided. Uneven ground; sturdy shoes recommended.
