Representative Rebecca Martinez Cares about Your Healthcare
Whatever your age, Healthcare affordability and accessibility are critical.
However, as an older resident, I am particularly grateful that Rep. Martinez is a nurse and has worked in the healthcare field for decades. As she rightly says: “We need people that are at the bedside at the tables where healthcare decisions are being made!” Rebecca is working with the CT State Comptroller to ensure she is at the table when we have to react to significant upcoming Medicaid cuts, as well as the discussion of public options for health insurance.
Rebecca has championed legislation that strengthened protections and opportunities for healthcare workers, helped establish the nation’s first cap on generic drug costs, supported the creation of a family caregiver tax credit for residents caring for a loved one, helped require the state to review and negotiate lower prescription drug prices, and additionally worked to have small businesses offer healthcare by creating a tax credit for employers who contribute toward employees’ individual health insurance.
Bottom line-With Rep. Rebecca Martinez’s hands-on healthcare career, she knowledgeably and passionately understands the need for affordable and quality healthcare for older and all CT residents and deserves your vote on November 3rd!
