FARMINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable achievements for college students from Farmington, as reported by readMedia Newswire.

Assumption College, Worcester MA

• The Assumption College Department of Athletics has announced that 30 student-athletes have earned a coveted spot on the 2016-17 Assumption College Men's Ice Hockey team, including Mac Carnes and Matt Cowles of Farmington.

Bard College at Simon's Rock, Great Barrington MA

• Each semester, Bard College at Simon's Rock recognizes superior scholarship through the Dean's List. Vivek Kumar, a sophomore at Bard College at Simon's Rock, has earned a place on the Dean's List for the fall 2016 semester. To be eligible for this honor, a student must carry 14 or more credits and achieve a grade point average of 3.5. Kumar, 18, of Unionville, attended Farmington Senior High School before leaving to enter college early after 10th grade.

Becker College, Worcester MA

• Jared Lomangino of Farmington was named to the Becker College Dean's List for the fall 2016 semester. Lomangino is pursing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interactive Media Design.

Clarkson University, Potsdam NY

• Cordell Szot of Farmington, a sophomore majoring in engineering and management, was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2016 semester at Clarkson University. Dean's List students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours.

Marist College, Poughkeepsie NY

• Seven students from Farmington were named to the Marist College Dean's List for the fall 2016 semester: Beatrix Bradford, a member of the Class of 2019 majoring in Environmental Science & Policy - Science Emphasis; Anna Bradford, a member of the Class of 2019 majoring in Mathematics; Sarah Held, a member of the Class of 2019 majoring in Social Work; Morgan O'Coin, a member of the Class of 2019 majoring in Business Administration; Ava Perfito, a member of the Class of 2020 majoring in Business Administration; Meghan Rigney, a member of the Class of 2020 majoring in Communication; and Maxim Vitkin, a member of the Class of 2018 majoring in Computer Science.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Paul DiTommaso of Farmington has been named to the President's List at Western New England University for the fall 2016 semester. DiTommaso is working toward a degree in Accounting.
  Students are named to the President's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher.
• Tatianna Mason of Unionville has been named to the Dean's List at Western New England University for the fall semester of 2016. Mason is working toward a degree in International Business and Marketing.
  Students are named to the Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher.
