FARMINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.
Colby College, Waterville ME
- Heather Jahrling of Farmington was recently named to the highly selective Dean's List at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2017-18 academic year. Jahrling is one of 438 Colby students-or 23 percent of the qualified student body-to qualify for the Dean's List last semester. Jahrling, a member of the Class of 2021, attended Farmington High School and is the daughter of Timothy and Maureen Jahrling of Farmington. Jahrling earned a semester grade point average of 3.75 or higher last fall to be included on Colby's highly selective Dean's List. She majored in history and art history.
Manchester Community College, Manchester CT

- Manchester Community College is pleased to announce its roster of students achieving President’s List recognition for the spring 2018 semester. The President’s List recognizes the exceptional scholarship of full- and part-time students who earn a 4.0 or “A” grade point average in their courses. Part-time students who have earned a 4.0 GPA with no withdrawals or incompletes in the semester, and have accumulated 12 credits at MCC, are eligible for the Part-Time President’s List. Andrew Arboe of Unionville was named to the part time list.
- Meghan Ruzbasan of Unionville was named to the MCC dean's list for the spring 2018 semester. Full-time students enrolled in 12 credits or more and who have earned a GPA of 3.4 with no withdrawals or incomplete grades in that semester are eligible for the Dean’s List. Part-time students are eligible for recognition with the same criteria when they have completed 12 or more credits of work with a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher. They may be subsequently recognized at successive 12-credit intervals.
Springfield College, Springfield MA
- A pair of Farmington students were named to the Springfield College dean's list for academic excellence for the spring 2018 term. Monique Marcelino is studying Athletic Training, and Michelle Erlikh is studying Health Science/Occupational Therapy. Criteria for selection to the dean's list requires that the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.500 for the semester.
