FARMINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Assumption College, Worcester MA

  • Assumption College has announced that 558 undergraduate students, or recent graduates, have been named to the College's prestigious Dean's List for the spring 2019 semester. Among the honorees are Farmington residents Aidan Duggan and David Maljanian. To receive recognition, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester. The Dean's List is announced following the spring and fall semesters.
  • 635 graduates received a degree during Assumption College's 102nd Commencement exercises on Sunday, May 12, held at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester, MA. Among the graduates were Dominic Alfano, Aidan Duggan and David Maljanian, all of Farmington.

  • Madison Hunter of Farmington graduated with a B.S. in child development on Saturday, May, 11, 2019. Hunter was a member of the women's swimming and diving team and Christian Fellowship.

St. Lawrence University, Canton NY

  • William S. Sanford of Farmington was one of the nearly 615 students who were awarded bachelor degrees from St. Lawrence University during Commencement ceremonies held on May 19 in Canton, New York. Sanford majored in environmental studies-mathematics, and graduated with a bachelor of science cum laude degree.

University of Scranton, Scranton PA

  • Brigit Cruess of Farmington was among more than 850 bachelor's and associate's degree recipients at its undergraduate commencement on May 26 at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre. Cruess earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in nursing.
  • Kerry Ann Randall of Unionville was among more than 625 master's and doctoral degree recipients at its graduate commencement ceremony on May 25 in the Byron Recreation Complex. Graduates recognized at the ceremony include those who completed their degree requirements in August and December of 2018, as well as January and May of 2019. Randall earned a Master of Science degree in occupational therapy.
