FARMINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

James Madison University, Harrisonburg VA

  • James Madison University is pleased to announce four students from Farmington graduated during the May 2019 commencement exercises. Peter Dunst graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Admin; Benjamin Schaedler graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies; and Kyle Sopelak graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Math.

Messiah College, Mechanicsburg PA

  • Matthew Fosberry of Farmington was named to the Dean’s List at Messiah College. He just completed his freshman year and is enrolled in the School of Business. In order to obtain this level of academic success, one must achieve a grade point average (GPA) of 3.6 or higher for 12 or more credits during the semester.

Stonehill College, Easton MA

  • Linna Jalinskas, of Farmington, a member of the Class of 2019, has been named to the spring 2019 Dean's List at Stonehill College. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

Union College, Schenectady NY

  • Sophie Borg, of Farmington, graduated from Union College. Borg, a member of the Class of 2019 majoring in Psychology, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude.

University of Scranton, Scranton PA

  • Two Farmington residents were among more than 1,650 students named to The University of Scranton's Dean's List for the 2019 spring semester. The Dean's List recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the Dean's List.
    Local students are Brigit Cruess, a senior nursing major in the University's Panuska College of Professional Studies, and Nathan Koziol, a junior marketing major in the University's Kania School of Management.
