Bates College, Lewiston ME
- Madison Liistro of Farmington was named to the dean's list at Bates College for the fall semester ending in December 2018. This is a distinction earned by students whose cumulative grade point average is 3.77 or higher. Liistro, the daughter of Mr. and Ms. Brian Liistro, is a 2016 graduate of Miss Porter's School. She is a junior at Bates majoring in biology and Spanish.
Colby College, Waterville ME

- Two residents of Farmington were among more than 500 students named to the highly selective Dean's List at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2018-19 academic year. These students, representing 26 percent of the qualified student body, earned a grade point average of 3.77 or higher last fall. Sravya S. Bahudodda, a member of the Class of 2021, attended Miss Porter's School and is the daughter of Sreenivasa Bahudodda and Padmalatha Gurram. She majored in biology with a neuroscience concentration and science, technology, and society. Heather Jahrling, a member of the Class of 2021, attended Farmington High School and is the daughter of Timothy and Maureen Jahrling. She majored in history and art history.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA
- Shruti Bhatia of Farmington, a member of the class of 2020 majoring in biomedical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), was a member of a student team that recently completed an intense, hands-on research project through the WPI project center in Kyoto, Japan. The project was titled The Kyoto Composting Project. In their project summary, the students wrote, "Our team of 4 worked directly with Midori Farm--a non-profit farm and advocacy group--to conduct extensive research and develop a number of recommendations to establish composting systems in Kyoto."
