FARMINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Bates College, Lewiston ME

  • Madison Liistro of Farmington participated in the Bates College Junior Semester Abroad program. Liistro, a 2016 graduate of Miss Porter's School, studied in Chile through SIT Social Justice, Valpariso. Liistro is the child of Mr. and Ms. Brian Liistro of Farmington, and is majoring in biology and Spanish at Bates.

Bryant University, Smithfield RI

  • Melanie Auclair, class of 2022, from Farmington, has been named to the President's List for the spring 2019 semester. The President's List is an academic distinction reserved for Bryant's highest achievers who earn a GPA of 4.0 or better for at least 12 semester hours of work.
  • Bryant University is pleased to recognize the students from Farmington who have been named to the Deans' List for the spring 2019 semester. Congratulations to Melanie Auclair, class of 2022; Kyle Gudewicz, class of 2021; Erica Raus, class of 2021; and Joseph Siuta, class of 2019.

Champlain College, Burlington VT

  • Katrina Mason of Farmington was one of 156 students to be named to the President's List for the spring 2019 semester. She earned a perfect 4.0 GPA and completed at least 12 credits of academic work to make the list.

Colby College, Waterville ME

  • Two Farmington students were recently named to the highly selective Dean's List at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2018-19 academic year. Sravya S. Bahudodda, a member of the Class of 2021, attended Miss Porter's School and is the daughter of Sreenivasa Bahudodda and Padmalatha Gurram. Heather Jahrling a member of the Class of 2021, attended Farmington High School and is the daughter of Timothy and Maureen Jahrling. Students had to earn a semester grade point average of 3.78 or higher this spring to be included on Colby's Dean's List.

Goodwin College, East Hartford CT

  • Goodwin College announces that 992 students achieved Dean's List status for the spring 2019 session. Farmington residents making the list were Kristine Green, Jacqueline Josey, Piotr Krzemien, Deena Pennito, Stephanie Remo, Julie Burke and Husna Sayeed.

Muhlenberg College, Allentown PA

  • Sarah Hunter of Farmington was named to the Dean's List at Muhlenberg College for the spring 2019 semester. Students with a term GPA of 3.50 or higher were recognized for this academic achievement.

Springfield College, Springfield MA

  • Amekia Hampton of Unionville has earned a bachelor's of science degree in Human Services from Springfield College for studies completed in 2019. At the undergraduate commencement on May 19, 695 bachelor's degrees were awarded. Including the degrees awarded at the graduate ceremony on May 18, a total of 1,265 degrees were awarded over the two days. At the graduate commencement, 522 master's degrees, one certificate of advanced graduate study, five Doctor of Philosophy degrees, 36 Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees, and six Doctor of Psychology degrees were awarded.
  • Springfield College has named the following students from Farmington to the Dean's List for academic excellence for the 2019 spring semester. Criteria for selection to the dean's list requires that the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.500 for the semester. Honorees from Farmington and their majors are Nichole Maisto, Communication/Sport Journalism, and Michelle Erlikh, Health Science/Occupational Therapy.

Wheaton College, Norton MA

  • Shannon Connolly of Farmington, a junior member of the Wheaton College women's swimming and diving team, earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America honors for academic achievement of maintaining a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2019 spring semester. Shannon, a double major in creative writing and studio art, was also named to the Wheaton College 2019 spring Dean’s List. Students eligible for the Dean’s List must have completed three graded courses and whose academic standing has a GPA of 3.50 or higher. She is a 2016 graduate of Farmington High School and is the daughter of Brian and Denise Connolly.
