Complete List of Award Winners Announced for Gold Key Dinner

There will be 18 individuals honored at the 76th Gold Key Dinner in late April.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Four recipients of one of the state's most prestigious sports honors will be joined by 14 other award winners at the 76th Gold Key Dinner, sponsored by the Connecticut Sports Writers' Alliance on Sunday, April 30.

Super Bowl defensive end Dwight Freeney of the Atlanta Falcons, five-time U.S. Olympic archery team member and gold medalist Butch Johnson, retired Cheshire High School swimming coach Ed Aston and longtime Farmington High School boys soccer coach Steve Waters will receive Gold Keys, which were first awarded in 1940 and have been earned over the years by legendary sports figures such as Connie Mack, Bobby Jones, Willie Pep, Floyd Little, Joan Joyce, Gordie Howe, Bill Rodgers, Rebecca Lobo and Kristine Lilly.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Alliance's Bohdan Kolinsky Memorial Sports Journalism Scholarship.
