Complete List of Award Winners Announced for Gold Key Dinner

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Four recipients of one of the state's most prestigious sports honors will be joined by 14 other award winners at the 76th Gold Key Dinner, sponsored by the Connecticut Sports Writers' Alliance on Sunday, April 30.

Super Bowl defensive end Dwight Freeney of the Atlanta Falcons, five-time U.S. Olympic archery team member and gold medalist Butch Johnson, retired Cheshire High School swimming coach Ed Aston and longtime Farmington High School boys soccer coach Steve Waters will receive Gold Keys, which were first awarded in 1940 and have been earned over the years by legendary sports figures such as Connie Mack, Bobby Jones, Willie Pep, Floyd Little, Joan Joyce, Gordie Howe, Bill Rodgers, Rebecca Lobo and Kristine Lilly.

In addition to the Gold Keys, 14 other awards will be presented:

• Devon Carrillo, Middletown/Wesleyan University

Hank O'Donnell Female Athlete of the Year

• Bria Holmes, New Haven/University of West Virginia

Hal Levy High School Athletes of the Year

• Anthony Falbo, Newtown High School
• McKenna Dale, E.O. Smith High School

Doc McInerney High School Coaches of the Year

• Reggie Lytle, Hillhouse football
• Kelly Maher, Cromwell girls basketball

Bob Casey Courage Awards

• Giacomo Brancato, Fairfield Warde High School
• Danni Kemp, Foran High School/Stony Brook University

John Wentworth Good Sport Awards

• Tom D'Aquila, Middletown
• Rich Leonardo, Hamden
• Ed Morse, Derby
• Tom Owens, Enfield
• Chase Skrubis, Granby
• Curtis Urbina, Newtown
