Connecticut Wealth Management Directors Involved in Community Outreach

Patricia M. Kane, CFP®, Director and Kathleen M. Christensen, CPA/PFS, Director at Connecticut Wealth Management, LLC, participated in The College Club of Hartford’s annual scholarship luncheon held on June 7, 2014.  Ms. Kane is President of The College Club of Hartford while Ms. Christensen was recently appointed auditor.

Each year The College Club of Hartford awards graduating seniors of a public high school in Hartford County with a scholarship to those attending an accredited four-year college or university.  This year, 9 students were awarded $1,500 each by the organization.  Recipients must demonstrate academic excellence by a class rank in the upper 10% of their class.  Awards are also determined by a student’s leadership, character and community participation.

"It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of an organization that recognizes the extraordinary efforts by these young men and women,” said Kane.  “College is in everyone’s reach,” said Christensen.  “Financially, though, it can be a struggle for many families.  I’m so proud to be included in this tradition of supporting our future leaders.”

The College Club of Hartford was founded in 1905 by a group of forward-thinking women as an educational and philanthropic organization, with the pursuit of scholarship aid as its chief interest.

In addition to providing scholarships to high school students and a special grant annually to an area organization, the group maintains an active schedule of educational, civic and social programs for their members. Membership in The College Club of Hartford is open to women who are graduates of two- and four-year colleges and universities.
