Construction Worker Electrocuted in Farmington Accident

The worker was repairing damaged to a severed water main from an earlier incident when he struck an underground electrical line.

A construction worker walked away after being electrocuted during a work accident in Farmington.

First responders were dispatched to Barber Utilities on New Britain Avenue after the worker was injured.

The construction worker was digging a hole while repairing a severed water main from an earlier incident, according to Lt. Colin Ryan, police spokesman. The worker pierced what appears to be an underground electrical line.

An officer on scene contacted other first responders via radio for help.

The worker never lost consciousness and was able to walk to a waiting ambulance.
