Cooling Center Made Available In Farmington

Excessive heat and humidity is anticipated over the next several days, prompting officials to offer a place for residents to stay cool.

FARMINGTON, CT — Town officials are offering residents some relief from the anticipated heat wave by opening the Farmington Community & Senior Center as a cooling center.

Due to the forecast of extreme high temperatures and humidity on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the building is being made available for residents to seek relief from the heat. The cooling center will be open Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. The Senior Center is available weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Friday, those hours will be extended until 10 pm.

Anyone concerned about an elderly or disabled resident during this time is asked to contact Farmington Community Services at 860-675-2390.
