1 Badly Hurt In Farmington Crash With Vehicle, 2 Motorcycles: UPDATE

FARMINGTON, CT — One person was critically injured Tuesday afternoon in Farmington after an accident involving two motorcycles and a motor vehicle.

The Farmington Police Department said, at about 2:42 p.m., the FPD was called to the scene of a serious crash on Waterville Road (Route 10), just north of Farmington Avenue (Route 4.)

Police said the accident involved two motorcycles and a vehicle.

According to police, Lifestar helicopter was called to the scene and it transported one patient in critical condition to a nearby hospital.

Another two patients were transported by ambulance to area hospitals.

The North Central Regional Accident Reconstruction Squad has been activated and will be investigating the incident, police said.

As a result, Waterville Road (Route 10) was closed between Farmington Avenue (Rt. 4) and Aqueduct Lane. It was reopened after about 7 p.m., police said.

The road had been closed for several hours as part of the investigation.

"The investigation is still in the early phases and there is currently no further available information," said FPD spokesman Lt. Matthew S. Corcoran in a statement.
