CTfastrak Shuttle Starts Rolling To Weekend New Britain Bees Baseball Games At New Britain Stadium

The "BEEShuttle" leaves from the CTfastrak Downtown New Britain Station at Bay P and carries passengers directly to and from the stadium.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced recently that it started a weekend CTfastrak shuttle service to New Britain Bees baseball games at New Britain Stadium. The "BEEShuttle" leaves from the CTfastrak Downtown New Britain Station at Bay P and carries passengers directly to and from the stadium for all Saturday and Sunday home games.

Travel on the BEEShuttle is free with a transfer from any local CTfastrak or CTtransit route or costs $1.50 each way if only using the shuttle. Fare for children age 4 and under is free and youths age 5-18 are offered a discounted $1.20 fare (proof of age may be requested).

"This is a great opportunity for baseball fans throughout Connecticut to see minor league baseball at its best," said Gerry Amodio, New Britain Downtown District. "The new Bees baseball transit service using CTfastrak is a fantastic opportunity to join your co-workers and family members at any of the weekend home games."

For Saturday New Britain Bees' games, which usually begin at 6:35 p.m., the CTfastrak BEEShuttle will leave the CTfastrak Downtown New Britain Station with six scheduled trips between 4:50 p.m. and 6:05 p.m.

For the Sunday New Britain Bees' games which usually start at 1:35 p.m., the first BEEShuttle will leave the CTfastrak Downtown New Britain Station at 11:50 a.m. and continue with regular trips to the stadium until 1:05 p.m.

"As everyone knows, the game of baseball has played an integral role in the history of the 'Hardware City'. So, it's very exciting to see a new minor league team playing in New Britain. It will definitely help grow our local economy as well," said Karen Hudkins, New Britain Industrial Museum.

Return trips will depart New Britain Stadium 10, 20 and 35 minutes after the last out in the game. For customers who choose to leave the game early, one bus will remain on standby at the stadium to shuttle customers back to the CTfastrak Downtown New Britain Station at the end of the third and sixth innings or in the event the game is cancelled or delayed due to rain.
