The Day After: Everything In Farmington Closed, PZC Meeting Still On: UPDATE

Sunday's snowstorm is mostly over, but the cleanup the day after has Farmington officials opting to close all municipal buildings.

FARMINGTON, CT — Due to the winter storm Sunday into Monday, Farmington Town Offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26.

Meanwhile, a town-wide parking ban remains in effect through Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m. to allow crews to safely clear and treat roadways.

"Essential public safety services will continue to operate. Please stay safe and avoid unnecessary travel," wrote the town.

Updates will be shared on the town website, social media, and through Everbridge notifications.

Farmington Public Schools are also closed for the day on Monday, as are all schools in Connecticut.

In addition, trash and recycling collection for residents serviced by the town’s contractor (Waste Material Trucking Co.) will be delayed by one day.

Collections normally scheduled Monday through Friday will occur Tuesday through Saturday.

"Please place carts at the curb on your adjusted collection day. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as crews work to complete collections safely," wrote the town.

The Farmington Plan and Zoning Commission meeting scheduled for tonight, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. will proceed as scheduled.
