FARMINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable academic accomplishments by college students who reside in Farmington. The information is provided to Farmington Patch by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

  • Hundreds of students graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University this spring 2020 semester. The University's 130th annual Commencement Exercises occurred via YouTube on May 19 amid the COVID-19 pandemic on the same day the University had planned to hold its graduation ceremony at Hartford's XL Center. Graduates from Farmington were Olivia Bednarek, who graduated with a Master of Science in Elementary Education; Michael Tuttle, who graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology; and Thomas Manfredi of Unionville, who graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

  • Three students from Farmington earned degrees at Springfield College. They are Michelle Erlikh, Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science/Occupational Therapy; Trey Witter Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education; and Grayson Carter, Bachelor of Science degree in Communication/Sport Journalism.

University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa AL

  • Carolann Bordiere, of Farmington, was named to the University of Alabama Presidents List for spring 2020. A total of 16,470 students enrolled during the 2020 spring term at UA were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's).

University of Delaware, Newark DE

  • Omar Ahmad and Margaret Costello, both of Farmington, have been named to the University of Delaware Dean's List for the spring 2020 semester. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

  • Three students from Farmington were named to the President's List for achieving a spring semester grade point average of 3.80 or higher. Haley Brooks is pursuing a BSW in Social Work. Krystyna Germano is pursuing a BSBA in Accounting. Rebecca Friedman is pursuing a BA in Elementary Education/Psychology.
