Dense Fog, High Wind Advisories Issued for Northern Connecticut

The fog is expected to last through the early portion of Monday night; wind advisories are in effect late Tuesday morning through the day.

A pair of advisories have been issued by the National Weather Service for northern Connecticut.

Dense fog is expected to continue until around 7 p.m. Monday from the Hartford area north into Massachusetts. Dense fog leads to rapid reduction in visibility, making driving hazardous into the evening hours. Visibilities are expected to be a quarter-mile or less in some areas.

Late Tuesday morning, a wind advisory goes into effect for the same area through 6 p.m. that evening. Wind advisories are issued for sustained winds between 31 and 39 MPH, or gusts ranging between 46 and 57 MPH. Winds this strong are capable of downing small tree limbs and branches, and may possibly cause isolated power outages.
