Doctor At Farmington Med Center Accused of Coughing On Co-Workers
Dr. Cory Edgar, of UConn Health Center in Farmington, was issued a misdemeanor summons charging him with breach of peace.

FARMINGTON, CT — A doctor at the UConn Health Center in Farmington was issued a misdemeanor summons Thursday morning after police said he intentionally coughed on two other members of the medical staff.
Dr. Cory Edgar, an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, was charged with second-degree breach of peace after he "intentionally coughed on two other medical employees at the health center in close proximity," according to UConn spokesperson Stephanie Reitz.
Witnesses and medical workers said they believed Edgar "was purposely disregarding space and safety concerns involving the coronavirus pandemic," Reitz said, adding, "UConn Health is aware of the situation. We take all such allegations seriously and the matter is currently under review."
