FARMINGTON, CT — A Hartford man is facing several charges after running from the scene of a car crash in Farmington, then engaging police in a confrontation, an arrest report indicates.

The crash took place at 5:54 p.m. Saturday near Scott Swamp Road and Spring Lane, according to an arrest report.

After the crash, the driver, identified as 34-year-old Juan Rivera, of Hartford, fled on foot, according to an arrest report. Rivera fought with officers while being taken into custody, according to a report.

Rivera was charged with:

  • Reckless driving
  • Second-degree reckless endangerment
  • Interfering with police
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Driving an unregistered vehicle
  • Improper use of a registration plate
  • Driving without the proper insurance

His case was assigned a $10,000 bond, police said.
