Farmington's October Bulky Waste Collection, What You Need To Know

The town will pick up various, unwanted items for five days later in October.

FARMINGTON, CT — Now is the time to start planning which items you want the town to take away as part of this month's bulky waste collection.

According to the Town of Farmington, bulky waste will be picked up on regulard trash pick-up days during the week of Monday, Oct. 17, to Friday, Oct. 21.

This is a town-wide program and involves all who utilize municipal trash pickup.
"All Farmington residents who have trash collection paid through the Town's annual special service fee, are invited to leave their bulk items curbside the night before their regular collection day and will be picked up on your normal trash pickup day during the week of October 17-21, 2022," reads a Town of Farmington announcement on the program issued Wednesday, Oct. 5.

There are also several rules and regulations trash customers need to be aware of regarding what can or cannot be left out.

For example, large furniture, appliances and plumbing fixtures, among other items, are allowed.

Items that will not be accepted include trash, lumber, building materials and recyclable materials, among other items.
