The Prince And The Showgirl (1957) Laurence Olivier (who also directed) and Marilyn Monroe essay the title roles in this effervescent period romantic comedy, based on a play by Terence Rattigan. Olivier plays an uptight Carpathian royal who develops an unlikely attraction to free-spirited American chorus girl Monroe during a trip to London in 1911. Sybil Thorndike also stars. 117 min.
