Farmington 2019 Elections: Candidates, Polling Places, Hours
Here's what you need to know concerning the 2019 Farmington local elections, including the candidates, polling places and voting hours.

FARMINGTON, CT — Voters began heading to the polls at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 to vote in Farmington’s municipal election. Positions of town council chair, town council, Board of Education, Board of Assessment Appeals, Town Plan & Zoning, Zoning Board of Appeals and constables are all up for grabs.
Polls are open until 8 p.m. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes.

Town Council chair Nancy Nickerson is not running for re-election, leaving the battle for her seat to a pair of current council members, Democratic vice chair Bruce Charette and Republican C.J. Thomas.

District 1 town council candidates are Democrats Brian Connolly and David Wlodkowski, and Republicans Joe Capodiferro and Peter Mastrobattista. In District 2, incumbent Democrats Edward Giannaros and Patricia Boye-Williams are being challenged by Republicans Gary Palumbo and Christopher Fagan, the current school board chairman.
Board of Education
Candidates for spots on the Board of Education include two incumbents: Republican vice chair Christine Arnold and Democrat Liz Fitzsimmons. Others vying for seats are Republicans Sarah Healey and Sylvie Binette, and Democrats Matthew Hutvagner and Beth Kintner, currently a member of the town council.

Polling places in Farmington are:
- District 1, Precinct 1, 2, 3, 4 - Irving Robbins Middle School, 20 Wolf Pit Rd., Farmington
- District 1, Precinct 5 - West Woods Upper Elementary School, 50 Judson Lane, Farmington
- District 2, Precinct 6 - Community/Senior Center, 321 New Britain Ave., Unionville
- District 2, Precinct 7 - Municipal Campus (High School, Library or Town Hall), Monteith Drive, Farmington
Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously registered voters, standing in line before 8 p.m. to registrar won't guarantee the ability to vote.
