Farmington Announces Waste Collection Dates

Farmington residents may bring compost, electronic recycling and more on these dates in September and October.

Labor Day Trash and Recyclable Collections:

For Farmington residents who have trash and recycling collections by the Town's contractor, there will be normal collections on Labor Day, Monday, September 5, 2016.

Eunxis Mead Compost Area:

The Compost Area will be open Saturday, September 3, 2016. This area is open 8:oo a.m. to 12 noon Wednesdays and Saturdays. The gate closes promptly at noon. Residents may bring leaves and brush directly to the Tunxis Mead Compost Area, which is located at the end of Tunxis Mead Road. Also residents may pick up leaf compost and wood mulch from the Composting Area. Landscapers and contractors are not alloused to pick up this material. Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Recycling:

The Town of Farmington is happy to announce that we are working with the Towns of Simsbury, Avon, Canton, and Granby to provide Household Hazardous Waste Collections. The remaining collection date that the Town of Farmington residents (along with residents of Simsbury, Avon, Canton and Granby) can attend for the 2016 year is scheduled for:

  • · Saturday, November 5, 2o16 - 8: oo a.m. - 1: oo p.m. (g Simsbury Public Works Facility, 66 Town Forest Road, Simsbury, CT

Also, used motor oil will be accepted for recycling. Farmington residents will no longer be able to participate in any of the MDC household hazardous waste collections.

Bulkywaste Collection:

For residents who have trash collection by the Town's contractor, Waste Material Trucking Company, Inc. the next Town-wide bulky waste collection week will be: Monday, October 17 through Friday, October 21, 2016 (on your day for trash pickup).
