Bauchman became an assistant principal in July 2012. Before that, she taught for several years in Durham and Bloomfield.
She was selected for the award because of her strong leadership skills, commitment to the school community and her work to ensure high-quality learning opportunities, according to a release.
She said the award reflects the teamwork that happens in the Farmington Public School community.
“It is an honor to be recognized from a group of talented and dedicated professionals across the state,” she said. “This award reflects all the hard work of the Farmington Public Schools and its teachers, staff, students and community. I am lucky to have the opportunity to work with and learn from such outstanding individuals.”
Superintendent Kathleen Greider said Bauchman is deeply committed to the success of all students in Farmington.
“Dr. Bauchman is not only a school leader, but she readily takes on leadership roles at the district-level,” Greider said. “She understands and embraces the belief that we collectively take responsibility for the success of every student. In turn, our students are leaders of their own learning and are well prepared for the world that awaits them beyond their education in Farmington.”
Board of Education Chair Mary Grace Reed said that Bauchman is an extraordinary leader and that she is persistent in making sure all students achieve academic and personal excellence.
