Farmington Assisted Living Employee Earns Statewide Senior Care Service Award

The Riverbend at Farmington maintenance worker received CALA's 2026 Outstanding Resident Service Award for his dedication to residents.

FARMINGTON, CT — A Riverbend at Farmington employee has been recognized with a statewide honor for his commitment to serving residents.

Matt Noonan, a maintenance assistant at the Farmington senior living community at 1 Bridgewater Road, received the 2026 Outstanding Resident Service Award from the Connecticut Assisted Living Association (CALA).

The annual award recognizes assisted living professionals across Connecticut who demonstrate exceptional dedication to residents. Associates from a variety of departments, including nursing, resident care, dining services, maintenance, housekeeping and activities, are eligible for the honor.

Although Noonan works in maintenance, Riverbend officials said his contributions extend well beyond his job description.

According to the community, Noonan is known for responding to maintenance requests, assisting residents and supporting coworkers with a positive attitude and a willingness to help wherever needed.

His nomination highlighted the relationships he has built with residents and his efforts to ensure they feel supported and respected.

Riverbend at Farmington's Resident Engagement Director Alison Murphy shared one example cited in his nomination.

"Matt volunteered his own time to escort a Riverbend resident to her granddaughter's wedding. This gesture speaks volumes about the genuine care, kindness, and dedication Matt brings to our residents each and every day. He consistently puts others first, and we are so fortunate to have him as part of our team."

Riverbend at Farmington also nominated Amanda Wilkins, Darbe Smart, Kristine Dobrowolski and Livia Szakolczay for the 2026 Outstanding Resident Service Award, recognizing what the community described as their compassion, commitment and teamwork.

The community congratulated Noonan on the recognition and thanked him for the impact he has made on residents, families and fellow associates.
