Farmington Athlete Garners College Lacrosse Honor

He was named conference player of the week Monday.

FARMINGTON, CT — A member of the Mitchell College men’s lacrosse team from Farmington was honored by the New England Collegiate Conference Monday.

Sophomore Jacob Setzko was named NECC Player of the Week after helping the Mariners to their first conference win of the season by an 11-6 final over Wheelock College on April 12.

Setzko scored a game-high four goals to go with an assist and four ground balls in the win. He is the second Mitchell player to earn player of the week honors in 2017, joining teammate McCarthy Brodaski (March 6). The second-year midfielder has played in nine games this season and leads the Mariners in scoring with 14 goals and six assists for 20 points.

Mitchell (2-7 overall, 1-1 NECC) will next play at Becker College on Tuesday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m.
