Farmington, Avon FDs Rally For Beloved Fire Official Battling Cancer
The Avon and Farmington firefighting communities are hosting a pasta dinner in Farmington for the AVFD's deputy chief, who has cancer.

FARMINGTON/AVON, CT — Folks are invited to enjoy good food and good company and raise money for a good cause, namely help a beloved member of the Avon Volunteer Fire Department battle cancer.
AVFD Deputy Chief Dave Theriault is battling stage 4 cancer, with the local firefighting community hosting a special pasta dinner buffet in Farmington on Sunday, Feb. 23, from 3 to 7 p.m.
The dinner will take place at the Farmington Polo Club, 162 Town Farm Road, Farmington.

Theriault was recently promoted to his post, with the AVFD announcing the promotion on Feb. 11.
The AVFD, along with Tunxis Hose Co. No. 1 and the Farmington Fire Department, is hosting the dinner to help raise money for Theriault’s medical expenses.

The fundraiser will feature cheese and crackers from 3 to 4 p.m., then a pasta buffet from 4 to 6 p.m., with coffee and dessert from 6 to 7 p.m.
"In addition to delicious food, drinks, and camaraderie, the event will feature dozens of raffle prizes," wrote event organizers.
Event tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for seniors and children under 10 years old.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at www.HometownFoundation.org. In addition, contributions can be made via Venmo @supportDave or by mail to the AVFD at 25 Darling Drive, Avon, CT 06001.
