Farmington Band Directors Attend National Conference
The Hartt Youth Wind Ensemble, featuring a pair of Farmington High School students, was among the featured bands.

FARMINGTON, CT - On March 11, the Farmington Public Schools band teachers attended the National College Band Directors Association conference at the Coast Guard Academy in New London.
Farmington band directors Jenn Austin, Dawn Matthews, Patricia Maher and Tom Johnston attended sessions about rehearsal techniques and pedagogic theory by college directors and composers such as Frank Ticheli.
The U.S. Coast Guard Band and the Hartt Youth Wind Ensemble were two Connecticut bands featured in literature reading and rehearsal technique performance sessions throughout the day.
