Farmington Band Directors Attend National Conference

FARMINGTON, CT - On March 11, the Farmington Public Schools ​b​and teachers attended ​the​ National College Band Director​s Association conference ​at the Coast Guard Academy​ in New London.​

Farmington band directors Jenn Austin, Dawn Matthews, Patricia Maher and Tom Johnston attended sessions about rehearsal techniques​ and pedagogic theory by college directors and composers such as Frank Ticheli.

​The U.S. Coast Guard Band and the Hartt Youth Wind Ensemble​ were two ​Connecticut band​s​ featured in literature reading and rehearsal technique performance sess​ions throughout the day.​
