Farmington Captain Named New Police Chief in Glastonbury
The new chief in Glastonbury will be sworn in next week.

GLASTONBURY/FARMINGTON — A captain in the Farmington Police Department has been named the new chief in Glastonbury.
Marshall Porter, a 26-year-veteran in Farmington, was hired Wednesday, the Hartford Courant reported.
Thomas Sweeney, the director of police services and Glastonbury’s chief from 1999 to 2012, has been temporarily serving as chief since the retirement of Chief David Caron in December.

Porter will will be sworn in as Glastonbury’s chief on Nov. 8 in a 10 a.m. ceremony at town hall.
