Farmington Companies Honored as Outstanding Family Businesses
MJP Wealth Advisors, ITech Solutions Inc. and Educational Playcare Ltd. receives honor

Hartford, Conn. (October 19, 2017) – Eight outstanding family-owned businesses were recognized last evening for their contributions to Connecticut’s business community. The ceremony, which took place at Farmington Gardens in Farmington, Conn., featured a keynote address by John Lyman III, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of The Lyman Farm Inc. (Lyman Orchards), an eighth-generation family-owned business.
“We are fortunate to have a number of thriving family-owned businesses in our region,” Joe Zwiebel, president and publisher, Hartford Business Journal, said. “Each of these businesses has a rich history and unique story of how they were founded and have evolved. We’re delighted to honor a small group of these companies for their achievements and wish them continued success.”
The 2017 Family Business Awards recognized companies in four categories: Full Time Employees less than 25; Full Time Employees 25-75; Full Time Employees 76-199; and Full Time Employees 200+. The winners are:
