Farmington Company Among 100 Best Employers in U.S.
Forbes magazine released its list of America's Best Employers Wednesday.

FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington-based Otis Elevator was named to Forbes magazine’s 2017 America’s Best Employers list, released Wednesday. Otis ranks No. 93 out of the top 500 large U.S. employers, and No. 4 in the engineering/manufacturing industry.
Forbes surveyed more than 30,000 U.S. workers at companies with more than 5,000 employees to form the list. They asked questions including how likely employees are to recommend their employer to someone else and how they feel about other employers in their industry. Companies earn a spot on the list based on survey responses. They are not nominated, and there is no application process. The list is in its third year and this is the first year Otis has been recognized.
“It’s an honor to make the Forbes Best Employers list,” said Otis Chief Human Resources Officer Christian Meisner. “Our success over the last 164 years is the result of our employees’ passion and commitment. They are proud to help move more than 2 billion people every day with Otis equipment.”
