Farmington Election Overview 2019 - Town Council, School Board
A brief look at the candidates for town council and Board of Education seats in Farmington, plus a sample ballot.

FARMINGTON, CT — Municipal elections around the country are just under three weeks away, and the ballot in Farmington contains a full slate of candidates for town council and the Board of Education. Town Council chair Nancy Nickerson is not running for re-election, leaving the battle for her seat to a pair of current council members, Democratic vice chair Bruce Charette and Republican C.J. Thomas.
District 1 town council candidates are Democrats Brian Connolly and David Wlodkowski, and Republicans Joe Capodiferro and Peter Mastrobattista. In District 2, incumbent Democrats Edward Giannaros and Patricia Boye-Williams are being challenged by Republicans Gary Palumbo and Christopher Fagan, the current school board chairman.
Candidates for spots on the Board of Education include two incumbents: Republican vice chair Christine Arnold and Democrat Liz Fitzsimmons. Others vying for seats are Republicans Sarah Healey and Sylvie Binette, and Democrats Matthew Hutvagner and Beth Kintner, currently a member of the town council.
