Farmington Farmers Raise Money to Expand Chicken Flock
The Phillips family is aiming to provide more free-range local eggs to the community.

Farmington farmers are raising money to help expand their chicken stock and the number of fresh eggs they can provide to the community.
Rodger and Isabelle Phillips of Farmington are running a family farm with their four children. They currently raise certified organic vegetables and sell them at their farm shop, farmer’s markets.
The family also has a flock 25 chickens and hopes to increase it to 250 by the end of the year.

Funds will be used to renovate a space in a barn for a chicken coop, purchase 17-week-old chickens from a local hatchery, purchase an egg washer/sanitizer and purchase other needed items and feed.
The Phillips family is raising money through Indiegogo and is offering benefits to contributors. A $25 donation gets two-dozen eggs and $200 gets all the eggs from a single chicken, which should produce about 24 dozen eggs in a year.
