FARMINGTON, CT — The Farmington Town Council has approved a new, three-year pact with the local firefighters union for modest pay hikes over the next three years along with increased co-pays on firefighter medical benefits.

The vote was approved unanimously earlier this month, with the deal with the International Association of Firefighters, Local 3103 lasting from July 1 of this year through June 30, 2025.

The agreement, which was ratified June 7, includes nine paid firefighters within the Farmington Fire Department.

There will also be a slight increase in the firefighters' uniform allowance.

The council motion to approve the pact included some kind words regarding town firefighters.

"Our nine career firefighters serve and sacrifice for our community daily, often going
above and beyond the call of duty," reads the motion in the meeting minutes. "They have adapted to new COVID-19 requirements without missing a beat."
