Farmington Friends of Music Sponsor Musicians For Music Camps

The Farmington Friends of Music award scholarships for summer study to students from the Farmington Public Schools.

FARMINGTON, CT — The Farmington Friends of Music organization supports music education in the town's public schools. The organization sponsors student musicians by awarding scholarships throughout the year and during the summer for music camps. This summer, FOM awarded a higher amount of summer scholarships for students in grade 3-11. Students attended the Farmington Continuing Education Suzuki Strings and Band Camps, Laurel Music Camp, and Hartt School Audio/Recording. Students from the elementary through high schools enjoyed studying music over the summer and performing in concerts with a variety of musicians and new instructors. Additionally the Friends of Music awarded monies for Union School students to participate in the Main Street Singers in May.

The Friends of Music meet monthly and all community members are welcome to attend meetings and participate in this non-profit organization. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, September 17 at 7:00 pm.
